We carried out a full strip and renewal of a defective pitched roof, taking everything back to bare rafters to ensure the structure and ventilation met current standards.
The works included installing new eave vents, rafter rolls, eave trays, breather felt and treated battens, followed by new concrete plain tiles to match the existing extension. The roof was finished with a dry ridge system and bedded gable verges for long-term performance and low maintenance.
Additional works included:
Lead flashing and repointing to chimney
Lead back gutter tray and side flashings to the front
Dormer apron and side flashings with careful reinstatement of cladding
Reconfigured guttering and new white uPVC fascia to gable
Replacement of flat roof boards where required and new 3-layer felt system
Valley/gulley overlay system and refelting to abutments
Fire break insulation installed to boundary wall
During strip-back, we identified unsafe blockwork to the gable end. For safety and compliance, we recommended and carried out a partial gable strip and rebuild, securely tying into the existing brickwork and finishing with a two-coat render and pebble dash. Scaffolding was erected to safely complete these works.
