Following strip-back works to a flat roof, it became clear that there were two flat roof areas requiring attention rather than one. Both roofs were stripped back to allow a proper assessment and long-term repair solution.
At the same time, we carried out essential remedial works to the chimney stack, addressing weathering and defects that were causing water ingress.
The works included:
Careful removal and rebuild of the top 4–5 courses of chimney brickwork
Raking out and repointing of remaining brickwork
New sand and cement flaunching to the chimney top
Removal of defective cement fillets where chimney meets tiles
Replacement of broken tiles
New lead back gutter, step flashings and apron installed
Lead sealed into brickwork for a watertight finish
Reinstatement of tiles and ridges behind chimney
Re-bedding and pointing of ridge tiles where required
These works ensure the chimney and surrounding roof areas are fully weatherproofed and structurally sound.
